A Colorful Fiesta

Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's victory over France in battle.  The day is perhaps more celebrated in the United States now than it is in Mexico.  In the States, it is a celebration of Mexican-American heritage.

The fiesta is brightened by the colors of blue, green, red and yellow. Drinks are served in colorful bottles or margarita glasses.  We have added planted succulents and morracas.

Centerpiece with purpose

This centerpiece is created with a simple tin container filled with black confetti filler. Parchment paper covers the filler and tortilla chips are served in the tin for all of the guests to enjoy. We have adorned the edges of the tin with crepe paper flowers glued to barrett clips.  The flowers can double as accessories as guests can pin them to their clothes or in their hair--adding to the festive atmosphere.

Pinata and Papel Picado Banners

A pinata brings whimsy and anticipation to the party.  Our pinata is easily made at home, or you could purchase one from a party store. Lights and banners add to the festivities.

Here we have paired brightly colored placemats with multicolored dishes--all from the Dollar Tree! Bright red margarita glasses are lined with sugar and limes.
