The Perfect Cake
The secret to the perfect cake is that it must be thick enough to support the desired toppings while being rich and delicious enough to keep the guests 'ohhing and awhing'. This easy recipe provides the best of all categories for any celebration!

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 pkg 3 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
1/2 c. butter (melted not scalding)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup of whole milk
2 bakers semi-sweet chocolate squares
or 3/4 cup or 6 oz of chocolate chips
Chop both chocolate squares. Beat all ingredients (except chocolate pieces and/or chips) on low until moistened and then medium for 2 minutes. Stir in chocolate and pour into two greased 9 inch baking dishes and cook according to cake box directions (350 degrees, about 30 -35 minutes). Test doneness with wooden skewer.
Top cake with favorite buttercream frosting or rolled fondant.
